Easy Microchipping

If your pet runs away, they may be gone forever. However, you can increase the chances that your pet will be returned to safely by having them microchipped. The microchip is a safe procedure that is inserted via a hypodermic needle underneath the skin. If you pet is lost, a hand scanner can read the information and return the pet to you. It contains vital information, and it can't be lost. Contact Red Barn Animal Hospital today!

Millions of animals find themselves in shelters every year. You can increase the chance of finding your pet should he get lost by having him microchipped.

Microchipping is a procedure in which a needle is used to place a small microchip under the animal’s skin, usually between the shoulder blades. The chip carries a unique number that is read by a scanner. If your pet is returned to an animal control facility, shelter or animal hospital, the chip will be scanned. The number retrieved will be used to locate your contact information.

Microchipping takes about the same amount of time it takes to give an injection. It hurts about as much as having blood drawn. It can also be done during surgery to spay or neuter your pet.

Give us a call to set up an appointment to microchip your pet today.
